What a fabulous end to the term we had with NAIDOC week. Tyre Painting, Assemblies, Elders visiting, Radio Mama, GRAMS, Bunidiyarra language centre, football matches, sand painting and a fabulous cook up around the camp fire! A big thanks to our Aboriginal Community who made all this happen and to passionate staff who made the week engaging and hands on for students as they learnt about Aboriginal Culture and Language, history and food, land and stories. So many great memories, Well done to our Wonderful didgeridoo players who came out and played again around the camp fire, what a great moment.

After visiting their ECE 3 and 4 friends big Geraldton project Mrs Willson’s Kindy students set about making the own homes, they drew a big class map for our drawings. The Pre Primary class visited the Kindy class to view their completed work challenge. Well done Kindy, great job!
Thanks to those people who came along to the NAIDOC assembly on Monday morning. We had the ‘Didgeridudes’ play us some songs, followed by a rendition of the Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes song, danced and sung by the whole school.
After recess Jennifer and Nadine from Bundiyarra Language Centre came and taught some of the Year 4/5 students the Hokey Pokey in Wajarri. Finally at the end of the day Mr Victor Mourambine and Talisha Riley talked to the Year 5/6 students about how Victor received his citizenship prior to the 1967 Referendum, we also watched a moving story he and Talisha did with ABC about their story. https://vimeo.com/218424339
