GG festival a big success

Wow what a fantastic day the Waggrakine community had yesterday at our GG festival. After a great deal of work behind the scenes by the P&C’s GG sub-committee the day proved to be a great success. It could not have been the success it was if it was not for the Waggrakine and Geraldton community who came along on the day to support us, coming along and enjoying the day. A highlight of the day was the fantastic acts our talented Geraldton children and teenagers displayed from the local dance groups, the bucks cheer leaders, Rangeway Rockets and of course our own wonderful and talented school choir and irish dancers, coached to their best by the dedication of Mr Seinor and Ms McEvoy. We are very proud of our students and their enthusiasm to have a go, unearthing some hidden singers amongst our own students! Well done to our teachers who volunteered on the funny dunk, the kids loved dunking you all!

Many thanks to the hard work on the day of the P&C GG committee, parents, grandparents, family and friends who came down and helped out on the day, some at school working for 11 hours to ensure the day was a great success. Thanks to the school staff who gave up their whole day to help out. Thanks to all who made and donated jewellery, crafts, preserves, cakes or potted plants, a great deal of donations helped the success of many stalls. The school and the P&C would also like to acknowledge our endless list of sponsors from the community, who made the success of the raffles and chocolate wheels, silent auctions and more a great success. Sponsors list will be added later today.
