week 4, term 2, 2011
This week we welcomed Ibu Mina and Ibu Anah to our school and homes for two weeks. Anah and Mina have spent a week now with the students at Waggrakine, joining in with the Indonesian classes and visiting the children in all of the classes. They have shown students Indonesian dance and crafts. It has been a great experience to have the children experience visitors from another culture, language and religion and this has helped us develop a better understanding of the Islam religion.
On the weekend we visited the wildlife park and patted kangaroos, we went out in a boat to see the seals in seal rocks we met some of the local Indonesian community and enjoyed a school disco which even had some Indonesian dancing too.
