Great news that with our BER we have also been given a new interactive whiteboard or in our case a 52″ Plasma touch sensitive screen for all of our early childhood classrooms. A great boost for us as we would have had to do some careful budgeting to afford these within a year.
Student representatives from year 4-6 attended a video conference with Mandeep, Newton Moore Senior high students, Taroona High students, and we think east Butler Primary. We had the meeting in our new PP building while it was being moved into and used their new Plasma. The senior students were very jealous the PP and Kindy students are getting a 52″ plasma each!! Our students have lots of ideas for helping raise awareness of the plight of the orangutans.
We have scheduled some Cyber Cafes this term and look forward to staff from neighboring schools attending.
SD4 Pelaga Sister School
During the October Holidays Principal Lis Turner, and staff Mrs Mannion together with Marcus and Matthew, Ms Paula Moses and Ms Katie Low visited our sister school SD4 Pelaga. With our luggage at capacity we took over stationery, sports supplies, books and letters from our students. Upon arrival we were treated like royalty with a grand entrance and then displays of Balinese dance, martial arts and sports. We took over $1000 raised by our students along with sports equipment donated by Slater Gartrell Sports and stationery donated by Adam Hunter Pty Ltd. As a school we have previously donated one of our notebook computers and hope to donate a few more as soon as we can get Microsoft Office Software on the other 4 notebooks. We also aim to donate a data projector to the school.
